My journey into counselling began through my own experiences of therapy. During a difficult time in my life, including the loss of a loved one, I experienced first-hand how powerful it can be to have a space where you feel heard, supported and able to make sense of what you are going through.
That experience stayed with me and ultimately led me to pursue a career in counselling. I have always been drawn to people and their stories, and I value the opportunity to support others through challenging and meaningful moments in their lives.
Since then, I have worked with a wide range of individuals across different settings, including charitable organisations and private practice. These experiences have given me the opportunity to support people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures with diverse presenting issues, helping me to develop a thoughtful, adaptable and compassionate approach to my work.
As a proud Northern lass, I value authenticity, honesty and genuine connection. Whilst I take my work seriously, I don’t take myself too seriously. Outside of the therapy room, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, enjoying nature, socialising, or making the most of life’s simple moments. I’ve always been naturally curious about people and their stories, which is one of the reasons I was drawn to this profession.
One of the biggest challenges can be simply taking that first step. That’s why I offer a free initial consultation, giving us the opportunity to get to know each other and for you to share what’s on your mind.
If you are looking for a thoughtful and experienced therapist who will take the time to understand the whole picture and work alongside you towards meaningful change, I would be pleased to support you.
